AKA the only one dumb enough to take on the task. I was actually voted in unanimously by the original committee group, much to my surprise! Just another flashback from the past where everyone ganged up on me in the school yard.
Who EVER would have thought that I would be in charge of organizing a skewel reunion 40 years later. I sure as hell wasn't thinking of it back in 72. As a matter of fact - I had to go back in 73 to pick up a French credit. So I guess my failure to make it out the door on the first try, set me up for this gig, as I know TWO years of graduates..
Having said that - it has been an absolute pleasure in contacting all the past Alumni Faculty and their siblings in organizing this soiree. It really has been a trip down memory lane. I just hope I don't get mugged in a dark lane, or fall and break a hip..
I would like to take a moment to thank all the other Committee Members who have VOLUNTEERED their time and efforts to reach out to all 600+ Alumni we have compiled as attending the years 69-74.
See you in 2013!

Vice President to the Big Dummy AKA John Sky
Little did I know that the last fifteen years spent in the Horticulture and Landscaping business would be my preparation for ‘digging up’ six years’ worth of John XXIII student and teacher alumni for a reunion some 40 years later. Previous office administration experience comes in handy for keeping track of who’s been contacted when, and by whom!
Meeting up with Bobby Taschereau and John Sky on Facebook (what a great invention!) in October 2011was the auspicious beginning of the plan to have the multi-year reunion bash that is in the works today. FaceBook and word-of-mouth has been the predominant means of tracking down alumni.
The boys rounded up some more willing volunteers and our first committee meetings were held in September and November, and there is an upcoming January meeting. All committee members have been busy compiling class lists, taking pictures of everyone in their graduation finery, and beating the bushes for teachers and students,
Preliminary enquires about venues, catering, and entertainment have been made. But, you know, a reunion isn’t a success without the enthusiastic participation of the students who graduated during those years. We need you to sign up to register for this bash.

and originator of the bright idea for a reunion.
After John XXIII graduated from John Abbott College in 74 and then went to McGill. Joined the Army in 76. Married to Ute Stolz whom I met while I was serving in Germany in the 80s. We have been happily married for almost 24 years. No kids but we have dogs; our beloved Long Haired Dachshunds. Our daughter is furry and has four legs and her name is Zwuckel. We spend our time between Ottawa and Germany. Our passions are collecting antiques, gardening, movies, travel and haute cuisine.
I look forward with impatience to our High School Reunion and to doing whatever I can to help make it a success we can all fondly remember.

I didn’t know what I wanted to do after high school, but I quickly realized it wasn’t Librarian Technology at John Abbot College. I went west, became a flight attendant, ended up back east,
flying out of Halifax, for more than 25 wonderful years. Aside from people and organizational skills, I learned enough about business to retire from Air Canada and take over the administrative side of my husband’s growing company.
After seven very busy years, we sold the business, saw our son off to Dalhousie University and renovated our home, where we can now be found enjoying cooking, gardening, walking Seamus (our dog ), and generally loving retirement.
Life is good, but Time Flies! I encourage you to climb aboard this reunion flight to the past……Fasten your seatbelts, it is going to be a blast!!

Secretary Treasurer Budget Coordinator
After graduating from high school in 1971, I went straight out to work. One Friday evening I went out with Mary Lou Joyal to Marilyn's Lounge in Pointe Claire. It was that evening where I met my future husband, Peter who grew up on Stream Avenue in Dorval. We were engaged within 6 months and married in 1979. We bought our first home off-island in Saint-Lazare in 1981. After being a 'city girl' for so many years, I wasn’t sure how I’d adjust to being 'in the country' but I have come to absolutely love it and cannot picture myself living anywhere else. No, I do not own a horse.
We had our first daughter in 1983 and our second in 1985. Peter and I started an alarm and security business in 1988 (Wright Security Inc.) that we ran for 22 years. Sadly, Peter passed away suddenly in April of 2009, but I continued to run the company until I sold it in November of 2010. My oldest daughter is a Mountie in Vancouver and my youngest is a Producer for a Production House in Edmonton. I like to fly out about every 4 months to see them. It was best to sell the company and be available to visit my daughters as often as I am able to.
I have just bought a century-old house in Hudson Heights that I will be moving into this April 2012. The next chapter in this 'Book of Life'. Looking forward to seeing some faces from our days growing up in Dorval and hearing other stories at our high school reunion. Let's make this reunion something we'll all remember!!

Janet is just outside our planned years but has graciously volunteered her time so that the Alumni are not burdened with the task of having to work on their own party night such as manning the coat check, ticket registration table and many of the needed behind the scenes tasks.

Who better than Mr Leo Purcell to add some CHEMISTRY to the event, nyuck nyuck.
For those of you who were skipping classes - Mr Purcell taught Chemistry, so now you should get the joke.
